Integrated seam-to-interburden synthesis — Part II

The continuation table carries the same audit through the upper seams and interburdens. Apparent environmental cyclicity is plausible because coal, fine clastic packages and marker beds recur vertically, but sequence boundaries and systems tracts require more than recurrence.

Geological interpretation and evidential boundary

The continuation table carries the same audit through the upper seams and interburdens. Apparent environmental cyclicity is plausible because coal, fine clastic packages and marker beds recur vertically, but sequence boundaries and systems tracts require more than recurrence. Facies contacts, evidence for omission or erosion, regional datum control and accommodation history would be needed to convert the descriptive stack into a formal sequence-stratigraphic model.
